Anti-racism event takes place at RDP on Friday

Red Deer’s International Women of Purpose Cultural Association (IWOPCA) is launching its Anti-Racism Framework on Friday at Red Deer Polytechnic.

The Allyship, Solidarity and Community Engagement event runs 2-4 p.m. at RDP’s Margaret Parsons Theatre. The framework was developed in partnership with RDP and with funding help from the Alberta government.

Love Nwigwe’s short film I Can’t Breathe is being used as the foundation for dialogue and learning within the project. The 17-minute film was produced with a $20,000 grant from TELUS STORYHIVE and was among the projects to premiere in 2023 as part of the first Black Creators Edition in support of Black History Month.
